The picture is of remnant part of hill surrounded by express ways. It is old Amrutanjan point…standing as landmark between Lonawala-Khandala & Khopoli…a border which demarks districts Pune and Raigad.
The right name for road passing under the bridge near the base of hill is Get way of Mumbai…by road.
One at a time…this was a spot to visit for tourist…to go top on it…and to observe small village… khopoli…Duke’s nose (नागफनी)…and scenery.
The project of Express highway destructed one third part of hill from Khandala side…and the way created for Khopoli…destructed another one third of the hill from Khopoli side…And only middle one third survived.
The hill is no longer known as Amrutanjan point as Advertisement of Amrutanjan balm is not there…and it is no more spot to visit.
When one decides to make progress…one is bound to pay some price for it…everybody knows it.
When one decides to make progress…one has to sacrifice some things…your feelings…or time or many more.
But the sad part of progress is that…the first step towards progress is destruction.
